Somewhere between home and work we all need a ‘third place’ to go -- where we can escape the stresses of everyday responsibilities but still connect (with high speed internet access if you choose) to the outside world. The West Park Café is defining that third place for us. At The West Park Café, you can linger over a latte, wolf down a sandwich, or get dressed up for a date and sip cocktails. Here, you're part of an eclectic mix of characters, art, and ambience. We offer espresso drinks in the Northern Italian tradition, homemade cakes, real food made by our chefs from breakfast through to dinner, and an extensive selection of international wines. Food and drink are part of life and who we are, and as our lives become faster, more efficient, and less personal, we can take solace in the personal care that goes into The West Park Café's products and service.

The West Park Café is located on the western outskirts of darlington, in stark contrast to the restaurants and coffee chains that proliferate the town centre. We’re a single location, owned and operated by the same guy that put this all together in December 2008. We don’t have 75 different kinds of trademarked, pre-made caramel-nilla-frapp-a-ccino-supremas. What we do have is excellent made to order food and drink, and a commitment to serving the community that has supported us through our growing pains.

The art of the barista is a neglected art. In the rush to put a coffee stand or chain on every corner and in every strip mall, no one bothered to train the baristas or educate the customers about espresso. At The West Park Café we aspire to the artistry of baristas who master the fragile complexities of light roast espresso. There's a lot of knowledge, skill, and talent that goes into every espresso drink we make. That's why we carefully extract short shots, steam fresh organic milk to order, and are retentive about freshness.
